Adrian at Guerrilla Podcasts chats with Gethin Jones, General Manager of The Salutation Hotel in Manchester. Gethin gave me the heads up about the young creative group, Blank Media Collective (BMC) hosting their 1st Projector Series at The Salutation Hotel with guest artist Kev Munday and Dirty Works in Manchester and let me know more about what’s going on at The Salutation.

The BMC 1st Projector Series launched on 26th July at The Salutation Hotel “with a live street art participation extravaganza!” Check out the work created between 26th July – 23rd September.

Gethin told me that The Salutation Hotel hosted the launch for the 1st Projector Series from a young creative media collective called, Blank Media Collective (BMC).

The guest artist on the evening was Kev Munday and a young french dude also got involved, that walked in the pub, having heard about the goings on at Dirty Works based in Afflecks Palace in Manchester.

Staring Joe Public & Random Strangers that wanted to get invoved and do what they do on the walls of The Salutation, the evening most definitely had a Manchester, chilled out summer vibe from all concerned.

Gethin told me that The Salutation Hotel is more than 250 years old and not only serves real ale, live bands / music nights, they also host regular evening sessions that include:

Monday ~ Open Mic Nights
Wednesday ~ Irish Music Sessions
Thursday ~ Jam Night
Weekends ~ Local DJ’s

Later in August the And Festival, (Abondon Normal Devices), is going on in the hotel, organised by more than a few at The Corner House in Manchester and then there’s a Cigar Band Festival, sorted for the 1st week of September.
